The 3rd World Summit took place from 14–18 June 2006 in NewcastleGateshead, England co-hosted by the International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA) and Arts Council England (ACE).

The 3rd World Summit on Arts and Culture brought together global leaders in the arts and cultural sector to explore the theme Transforming Places, Transforming Lives and discuss the role of culture in regeneration. The Summit shared experiences on the transformation of places and communities and addressed how arts and culture can be powerful tools for regeneration. The 3rd World Summit was attended by 500 delegates from 77 countries.
