The 5th World Summit took place from 3–6 October 2011 in Melbourne, Australia co-hosted by the International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA) and the Australia Council for the Arts in partnership with Arts Victoria.

The 5th World Summit brought together leaders in arts and cultural policy making to address the theme Creative Intersections and provoked wide-ranging debate on the role of innovative government policy in facilitating intersections between the arts and other sectors for the benefit of the broader community, including health and wellbeing, education, environmental action, business, international aid, social inclusion and digital technologies. The Summit was attended by more than 500 delegates from 70 countries.
